October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so THINK PINK.  Here at uDream Events we love being festive and as a woman-owned business we especially want to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  For this Thirsty Thursday I have found some delicious pink specialty cocktail recipes for you to try.  In my opinion, you can have your pink and drink it too!

The Pink Salty Dog

The Pink Salty Dog is presented like a grapefruit margarita but is made with vodka. Grapefruit was very trendy a few years back and I still really enjoy it. The Pink Salty Dog reminds me of a margarita because of the sweet and salty combination. If you prefer just sweet you could also do a sugar rime.

Recipe:
1/3 cup grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed pink)
2 tbsps vodka
1 tbsp liqueur (campari, grenadine)
Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and a salted rim

Pink Bikini

When I found this drink online it brought out a weird combination of my inner Rachel Zoe and my inner tween.  I immediately thought, “this drink is everything, beyond amaze!”  The best part is, it only requires three ingredients. All of which I really like but have never had them together.

Recipe:
1 3/4 liters lemonade (raspberry, simply)
1 3/4 cups coconut rum
1 cup amaretto liqueur

Pink Gin & Tonic

Pink Gin and Tonic is such a simple and fun way to quicklymake a classic drink more interesting.   You can also adjust the recipe to how sweet (or pink) you like your drink by adding more or less angostura bitters.  For more gin-tastic recipes check out our Gin Blog!

Recipe:
1 1/2 oz gin
5 dashes angostura bitters
1/2 oz lime juice
tonic water

I think I owe it to myself, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to try at least one of these pink cocktails this weekend!
