Frisky Friday 8/17: Blood Orange Mimosa

Blood Orange Mimosa

This week we’ve decided to celebrate  August with our own champagne toast.  So, gather up the following ingredients and then raise your glasses to a couple more months of summer.

  • Ice (optional)
  • 3/4 cup of fresh Blood Orange Juice
  • 1 bottle of your favorite champagne
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of orange liqueur (Such as: Grand Marnier)
  • A splash of orange juice

First, chill the bottle of champagne.  Juice enough blood oranges to fill 3/4 of a cup and combine the juice with sugar and orange liqueur in a small bowl or large measure cup.  Stir the mixture.  Now, cover and chill.  Once chilled pour a fair amount into the bottom of a glass and add the champagne.  If desired, you may add ice.

Raise your glass, say a toast, and enjoy!

Happy August!
